DDM practical guide on the subject of high-temperature pressure sensors
Basic data for high-temperature pressure sensors
The high-temperature pressure sensors from DDM Sensor Solutions offer a range of features that make them ideal for use in particularly demanding applications.
- Compact design available from 10 mm diameter, suitable for various installation spaces.
- Supports relative, absolute, and differential pressure measurement for versatile applications.
- Operates across a broad temperature range: Standard models from -40 to 150°C, extended versions up to 180°C, and specialized variants down to -56°C.
- Measurement ranges from 0 to 250 bar, with custom intermediate values available.
- Variable output signal: The sensors provide various output signals, including 0.5 to 4.5 V, 0 to 5 V, 1 to 6 V and 0 to 10 V DC.
- Pressure connections: DDM Sensor Solutions offers all standard pressure connections as well as customized pressure connections.
- IP67-rated for dust and water resistance, ensuring reliable performance in harsh environments.
Measuring accuracy of the high-temperature pressure sensors
Measurement accuracy is defined by the total error, accounting for temperature-induced deviations, non-linearity, and zero-point drift.
It takes the following factors into account:
- Non-linearity
- Hysteresis
- Adjustment tolerance of zero point and final value
- Temperature influences on zero point and span
The sensors are offered with various total error options:
- ≤ 1% v.MB
- ≤ 0.5% v.MB
- ≤ 0.25% of MB
To ensure high measurement accuracy over the entire temperature range, DDM Sensor Solutions uses an active compensation method: a temperature measuring point integrated in the pressure sensor permanently supplies a temperature signal. The pressure sensor is calibrated at different temperatures according to the desired temperature range. The measured values obtained (pressure signal and temperature signal) are implemented in algorithms to correct the measurements in real time. This type of temperature compensation achieves a low overall error of up to +/-0.25% FS over the working temperature range.

High-temperature pressure sensors for individual requirements
DDM Sensor Solutions specializes in the development and production of customer-specific pressure sensors. Almost all properties of the pressure sensors can be adapted to the customer’s individual requirements. These includes
- Measuring range: Adaptation of the measuring range to the specific application
- Temperature range: Selection of the optimum temperature range for using the sensor
- Output signal: Configuration of the output signal according to customer requirements
- Pressure connection: Integration of the appropriate pressure connection for the respective application
- Materials: Selection of suitable materials for the wetted area and the housing
Delivery times for DDM high temperature pressure sensors
Once we have received your order, we will deliver the pressure sensors to the specified address within 3 to 4 weeks. The delivery time for stock items is due to our high quality standards and the complex manufacturing process. This consists of the following steps:
- Welding and leak test: The pressure connection is welded to the pressure measuring cell and then tested for leaks using helium.
- Ageing: The pressure sensor core is aged cyclically for 72 hours over the entire operating temperature range to improve long-term stability.
- Assembly and programming: The pressure sensor is fully assembled and programmed.
- Temperature compensation: The pressure sensor is calibrated in a calibrator over the entire temperature range in a climatic chamber. This process takes approx. 24 hours.
The delivery time for customized sensors is usually 6 to 8 weeks. The delivery time may be longer for more complex customizations.
